My
Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
There were
several more short rains yesterday after I posted my blog. Appreciate every
drop. Wind is the order of the day. Firefighters are out there in these big
winds, trying to stop the growth of the fire.
The
Avalanche won their 2nd last night…a real blow-out. Go Avs.
Gun violence
continues. When did guns change from being for safety to shoot when mad at
something or somebody? Why do these shooters have such a low opinion of life?
There has to be a better way.

Earth’s Secrets
Mosses Are
Everywhere
"Mosses
live on the surface soils in deserts all across the world. A cool thing about
moss is that they have the ability to capture water straight out of the air
using these specialized structures that look like little hairs coming out of
their leaves—called awns," USGS research ecologist Sasha Reed, tells
Popular Mechanics. "In the dry places that these mosses live, this is a
pretty cool trick!”
US Flag Myths
Myth #6:
It's illegal to wear clothing bearing the flag
Wearing
clothing made from an actual American flag would be a breach of etiquette,
according to the American Legion, but it said you wouldn't be breaking the law
by wearing clothing bearing a flag design: “People are simply expressing their
patriotism and love of country by wearing an article of clothing that happens
to be red, white, and blue with stars and stripes. There is nothing illegal
about the wearing or use of these items."
