My
Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
Getting very
warm for 7000’. I will survive.
I had a
quick eye checkup this morning. All good.
The palace
released a very cute video of Paddington Bear and Queen Elizabeth having tea to
celebrate her reign.
Wildfire is
always a concern at this time of year here in the National Forest. Yesterday
could have been devastating: a vehicle fire
on I-17, 25 miles south of Flag was held at 5 acres; an RV fire 25 miles
N of Flagstaff on US89, stopped by fire crews before it made it to the forest;
a vehicle fire at the Underpass of I-17 at Munds Park did not spread either.
All vehicles were destroyed.

Everyday Phrases
with a Dark Meaning
God bless
you
We've all
heard it after someone sneezes. But why do we say it specifically after
sneezing?
Its origins
can be traced back to the plague. It was used to express a desire for your soul
to remain in your body, because the Black Death could take it.
Riddle of the Day
v How is seven different from the rest of the
numbers between one and ten?
The math nerds may start thinking about prime
numbers or whether seven is divisible by this or that or if it can be cubed and
all that. Avoid thinking about math altogether and think about the literal
quality of the words that signify the numbers. Remember that riddles play with
the differences between the literal and the conceptual, or the straightforward
and the complex. For this riddle, think simple, but pivot to a paradigm separate
from numbers.
o Answer: Seven has two syllables and the
other numbers only have one syllable.
