My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
I got home
from some errands about 5 minutes before a 10-minute cloud burst. Clouds are
still coming over the mountain, then, an hour later more rain. I expect even more
rain today.
One of the
errands was to stop at the Nissan dealership to get some hands-on experience in
using some of the features. The only issue I have so far is that when I turn on
my cruise control the digital speedometer page disappears and it takes a couple of
clicks on the steering wheel to get back to the screen with the speed. The speedometer is always visible. They
could have designed that better.
CA is in a
drought…now it looks like the CA tomato crop is in danger. The news says to
expect prices of tomatoes and products that contain tomato to increase. Tomato
sauce has already gone up 23% over last year. Tomato sauce is now the most
expensive product in a pizza. WOW!!!
The NBA has
stepped up. They will not be playing any games on Election Day 2022 so fans and
players can vote without worrying about getting to the game and the polling
place. In addition, they are offering some of their venues as polling places.
Good move.
I try to
watch the Fox News channel about 30 minutes a day…so I know what they are
saying about various aspects of the news. I recall them complaining that the First
Lady should not be called Dr. because she does not have a medical degree. Now
they have a guy named Sebastian Gorka pushing pain relief supplements. He is
dressed in a white jacket, and introduced as Dr. Gorka in the ad. The problem
is he has a PhD and is not a medical doctor. Sounds a little bi-polar to me. I
have also noticed that Fox News carries a lot of commercials for ‘supplements’
that don’t seem to be on any other channels. Maybe the supplement companies
found a vulnerable audience.
