My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
Weather guy
says the monsoon is taking a break until Sunday. It’s a nice day for sure.
Flooding is
an international crisis. Some 3.3 million have been affected by flooding in
Pakistan. This year’s weather is certainly different.
I went out
to pick my CPAP supplies. Included was much needed head gear to hold the thing
on my face.
I was
excited about the scheduled Artemis launch to the moon. It got scrubbed.
My mail
included my new title for my vehicle, and my new insurance cards…along with a
bill. Now I’m just awaiting the license plate, so people won’t know I just got
a new vehicle.

One Hit Wonders
"The Hustle," Van
McCoy and the Soul City Symphony (1975)
McCoy was a
celebrated figure during the disco era, but mostly as a songwriter, music
arranger, and producer. However, his surprise 1975 hit "The Hustle,"
from the album Disco Baby, remains one of the most memorable songs from the
era. The track, inspired by the popular disco dance move, topped the Billboard
Hot 100 chart and even won the Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Performance.
McCoy had a few more singles that charted during his career as a recording
artist, but nothing close to the prominence of "The Hustle."
