My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

I drizzled most of last night. This morning has been on and off drizzle.

The Cards play later this afternoon. Broncos will be Monday night and I get to watch the game.

Lions have been rescued from a zoo in Ukraine. After a trip through Romania, they now have a new home at an animal rescue sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colorado. There was  a nice story on CNN about the trip and their new home.

Superstitions

Hats on a Bed Bring Bad Luck

The origin of this one is a little unclear. One theory is that putting a hat on your bed is too similar to the old practice of putting a dead person’s hat on their coffin and that doing so would bring death to your home. There is also an idea that people used to think that evil spirits lived in their hair (and hats) presumably because of the phenomenon we now know as static electricity and those spirits would transfer to the bed if you put your hat on it. It is also possible that the whole superstition came about to prevent the spread of lice.
