My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

Fall day, cool, cloudless sky.

Ukraine continues to suffer. In the last week they have lost 30% of their power structure from drone bombings. Daytime temps are in the high 40’s with light rain and nights in the mid 30’s. I must wonder how they are staying warm.

Today is my little brother’s birthday. I know he is having a great day!

I only want registered voters to vote in all elections. FL passed a law under Gov DeSantis that reinstates felons voting rights, unless it was for murder or sex crimes, and allows them to register to vote. Also, DeSantis set up a commission to investigate voter fraud. The penalty for Voter fraud is 30 days in jail and a $500 fine for each voting event. If there was voter fraud in 2020 and an ineligible voter voted in the Federal and the State election that is two counts. When someone renews or gets a new driver’s license, the MVD allows them to register to vote at the same time. The information is sent to the Election Commission, and they issue a card that is sent to the individual. Some office screwed up this process and allowed murderers and convicted sex crime individuals to still get that voter registration card. This week the Voter Fraud Commission discovered the error. They issued arrest warrants for those who voted but should have never gotten the voter card. Now about a dozen Floridians are sitting in jail for 60 days and must pay a $1000 fine. The voter fraud commission has yet to go after the office that screwed up. This is so wrong.

Superstitions

Wishing on Shooting Stars

Wishing on shooting stars goes back way further than B.o.B. The 1st-century (yes, 1st) philosopher Ptolemy believed that when meteors occurred, it meant that the gods were looking down and paying attention to Earth—and thus available to be pelted with wishes.

They live among us

My husband and I went through the McDonald's driveway window, and I gave the cashier a $5 bill.

Our total was $4.25, so I also handed her 25c.

She said, 'you gave me too much money.'

I said, 'Yes I know, but this way you can just give me a dollar back.'

She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my request.

I did so, and he handed me back the 25c, and said 'We're sorry but we don’t do that kind of thing.'

The cashier then proceeded to give me back 75 cents in change.

Do not confuse the people at MacD's.
