My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
A windy,
chilly fall day. The HOA grounds team is busy cleaning up the pine needles on
sidewalks and streets. Just not the gutter…darn.
The internet
machine said that our local mall opened at 10am. I headed over there to get my
glasses adjusted as they keep sliding down my nose. When I got there, they didn’t
open until 11am. No big deal. I returned an hour later, and now my new glasses
fit much better.
The Broncos
lost to the Jets yesterday. The game was not on my TV.
Yesterday I
got a notice on my phone that a tractor-trailer was on fire on I-40 a couple of
miles from my place. It was not that unusual as it is usually a brake problem.
This time it became more interesting because the cargo was several thousand
pounds of charcoal briquettes. I took two fire trucks to put it out.
The UK has a
new PM, Rishi Sunak was born in the UK, is of Punjabi descent, and is the 1st
person of color to hold the position. He has a big mess to clean up.

Best Instrumentals NEW
"Rebel-Rouser" by Duane Eddy (1958)
Back in the
day, Eddy was considered the "greatest instrumentalist of all time."
While that might no longer be the case, he's still among the elite. To many
rock guitar historians, this is the crowning jewel of his legacy. It's a folk
tune with a dirty, gritty sound that was quite different for the time.
They live among us
The pedestrian light on the corner beeps
when it's safe to cross the street.
I was crossing with an 'intellectually
challenged' co-worker of mine.
She asked if I knew what the beeper was for.
I explained that it signals blind people
when the light is red.
Appalled, she responded, 'what on earth
are blind people doing driving?!'
She is a government employee.....
