My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
Another
nice winter day. It is warming up but another storm on the horizon.
Pastor
John Hagee gave the opening prayer at Nikki Haley’s announcement to run for
President. Everyone considering her as a viable candidate should google John
Hagee. Many of his beliefs are way out of the norm. Following his prayer, Nikki
said she wanted to just like him. Hmmm.
Our
discussion group is getting back together after a long hiatus. Next Saturday we
will be discussing ‘War Crimes’. It should be a good discussion.
Just
got a notification on my phone that a large herd of elk (about 50) are
wandering around in the Continental Country Club housing. WOW!
Enjoy…

Facts…
Australia
Boasts the World’s Longest Golf Course
Golfers with
time to spare can play an 18-hole, par-72 course that spans two Australian
states. Starting in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, the Nullarbor Links feature
one hole at each participating town or roadhouse along the Eyre Highway, before
finishing 848 miles away in Ceduna, South Australia. The course incorporates
the rugged outback terrain of the Nullarbor Plain, and play can often be
interrupted by kangaroos and wombats. Golfers should set aside four days to
complete the entire course, and clubs are available for rent at each course
(for those who don’t wish to carry them for the multi-day journey).
Slang
Origins
1997: Yadda yadda yadda
Meaning: a phrase to use when what you
would say is otherwise too long or meaningless
“The Yada Yada” was an episode in the
eighth season of “Seinfeld,” which featured a character who constantly used the
phrase in her stories. However, the "Seinfeld" team was far from
inventing the term. Jewish comedian Lenny Bruce was known to use the term in
the early ‘60s, and it most likely dates back to vaudeville shows before 1940.
Trivia…
The longest flight in the world lasts
over 18 hours and covers over 9,500 miles
If you are ready to spend nearly an
entire day on a plane, this flight might be for you. Singapore Airlines has a
direct flight from Singapore to Newark, New Jersey that lasts about 18 and a
half hours and covers 9,543 miles (15,357 kilometers). It currently holds the
record for the longest flight in the world.

erroneous views should be shunned.”– Nicolaus Copernicus
