My
Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
Nice
winter day…snow melting away.
Today
became a much-needed laundry day. Four loads…washed, dried, folded, put away. Now I can be clean and lazy.
Israel
is in the news…Half-a-million are protesting against Netanyahu’s judicial
overhaul. This is a story that needs to be followed. Lots of upset people.
Enjoy…

Facts…
"Ohio
is the only US state that doesn't share a letter with the word
'mackerel.'"
"Pirates wore eye patches so one eye would always be acclimated to the darkness, allowing them to see in the darkness below deck in an instant."
More Slang
origins…
Word from the bird
If someone doubts that you're telling
them the truth, you can assure them that it's the "word from the
bird." Because as everybody knows, feathered and egg-laying creatures are
never dishonest.
Beauty in
our 50 states…
Though most Gulf Coast states are a flat,
green expanse of humidity and pine trees, Alabama actually has some pretty
elevation in the central part of the state around Birmingham. Add this to the
white sand beaches of the Redneck Riviera and you've got a state that rarely
gets its due. Unspectacular? Maybe. But as far as nature and comfort food goes,
you can't do much better.
