Today’s Thoughts
Monsoon
continues. It is barely noon and already had two 10-minute rains.
I
did the readings for the Iran at a Crossroads. I learned a lot. Since
the revolution, the population has become much younger. Since the revolution,
fewer are attending religious services. After the killing of a young woman for
not wearing the head covering ‘correctly’, women have become more active in the
change process. Most Iranians still dislike the US for its interference back in
the 1960’s. Iran is certainly a place to watch.

Ocean Trivia

mysterious Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is said to
have swallowed many ships, planes, and helicopters into its depths. In which
ocean is this regional anomaly located?
Answer: Atlantic
Origins of State Names
Ohio
You can’t find any U.S. state names shorter
than Ohio, but it was named after an even shorter Iroquoian word: O-Y-O,
meaning “great river.” The Seneca Native Americans settled along what is now
the Ohio River in the 1650s, and though the region was briefly named La
Belle Riviere by French explorers in the late 1600s, the English restored its Native
Ohio name when they took control in the mid-1700s.
