Today’s
Thoughts
A nice spring day.
I had lunch with Mary, Mike,
Faith, & Andy this afternoon. Nice to catch up with friends.
My mail must be really slow as
my invitation to King Charles’ Coronation has not yet arrived. Now I may have
to charter a private jet to get there if it arrives in time.
June 1 is not the deadline to
stop default in the national debt. Congress needs to get busy soon.
The Nuggets are now up two
games over the Suns. Not what I expected. All good though.
The writer’s strike has
started. Expect some major changes in the media industries.
Enjoy

Trivia
Under their white fur, polar
bears actually have black skin
A polar bear's white coat helps them camouflage in their
typical environment composed mainly of snow and ice. Under their fur however,
polar bears have black skin to more efficiently absorb the sun's rays.
Origins
of State Names
Kansas
Kansas is derived from a Siouan language means “people of the
south wind.” How appropriate, considering the winds that sweep through Kansas’
vast plains. The state got its name from the Native American Sioux tribe called
the Kaws — also known as the Kansa — for whom French explorers also
named the Kansas River. It’s believed that a French explorer once wrote the name on
a map, and from that
point on, the name Kansas was used for the region. Who knew that the simple
stroke of a pen could have such a long-lasting impact?
