Today’s Thoughts
On
this day in 1939, my parents were married. They had a long and wonderful life
together. Still missing them both.
Canadian
wildfires still causing problems. I hope they are under control before my next
Focus Trip.
Wednesday
night a train derailed near Williams, about 20 miles from Flagstaff. Twenty-seven freight
cars derailed, closing all E-W and W-E traffic on the rail line. Awaiting NTSB
reason for this derailment. So far no injuries.
The
latest indictments have been unsealed. I wonder how Trump will get out of his
latest mess? I wonder how much longer his victim card is going to be useful to
him and to his followers?
Enjoy
History revisited
The
Brooklyn Bridge Was Under Construction During The Battle Of Little Bighorn
Otherwise
known as "Custer's Last Stand," the Battle of Little Bighorn took
place in 1876, and was fought between the Native American forces including the
Northern Cheyenne, Lakota, and Arapaho tribes against the United States Army.
That same year, the Brooklyn Bridge, the world's first steel-wire suspension
bridge, was under construction.
Although
it has undergone some improvements over the years, the bridge stands strong,
transporting around 150,000 vehicles including cyclists and pedestrians between
Manhattan and Brooklyn each day.
