Today’s Thoughts
It
has warmed up from the overnight low of 20°.
D-back
fell 11-7 in Phoenix. They need to find their winning attitude or it’s all over
tonight.
I’m
doing my PT exercises faithfully. Slept through the night without pain. Yeah!
I
heard a good story about the dilemma Pharmacists are in. Over the past few
years, the Pharmacy assistants have had hour cut or lost their jobs. And no changes
in pay. My local Walgreens now gives all kinds of injections with little or no
wait time, the on-duty pharmacist work up to 10 hours a day. When a picked up a
script today, I went inside instead of the drive thru, to thank the pharmacy
workers for their great work and the NPR report. They were appreciative.
While I was out, I looked for
a ‘squishy’ ball to use in my exercises. I tried the 3 ‘Sports equipment places
here…they had nothing. PT lady to order from Amazon…could have saved time if I
had just listened, but I WANTED IT NOW…not in the 6 days to get it here by ordering
on line. It is usually used for Pilates, so should be easy to find. Not in
Flagstaff…Boo!

Facts that seem made
up Trivia…
The
fax machine was invented before the telephone!
The
fax machine - the everywhere technology of the 1980s and 1990s. The fax
machine was the way to send important documents across large distances
during this time, and it appeared to be directly linked to the telephone.
However, did you know that the fax machine was invented before the telephone?
While
Alexander Graham Bell won the first US patent for the telephone in 1876,
inventor Alexander Bain filed the first patent for a fax machine
in 1843. It looked nothing like the fax machines of the 1980s and 1990s, and it
sent messages over telegraph lines.
Random Trivia…
The
Chance Case of the Curious Mummy©Pixabay
Found
in 1991 in the Ötztal Alps, Ötzi “the Iceman” is the earliest natural human
mummy ever found in Europe. Ötzi was alive from sometime between 3400 and 3100
BCE. The most surprising thing about him? He had tattoos! And not just a
couple...researchers have identified a total of 61 different tattoos covering
his body. That means he's not only the oldest tattooed person ever found, but
also (probably) one of the oldest ancestors to today's Brooklyn hipsters.
The
tattoo ink itself was produced from ash or soot and is believed to have been
used as a form of pain relief.
