Thoughts for the day
A nice fall day. Headed out early to
pick up some stuff I needed.
When I got home, I rearranged the
living room and plugged in my electric fireplace. My furnace works well but the
electric fire is so relaxing, with or without any heat.
I certainly agree that every American
should have the same rights, and no one should be discriminated against.
Discrimination has been a sad and long history of these United States. Some minorities
have been much louder than others. I also believe the media should treat every
minority with the dignity they deserve as Americans. It should also be noted
that according to the latest statistics, 0.5% of Americans identify as
transgender, 1.2% identify as gay, 4.4% identify as bisexual and 2.9% of Americans
are enrolled members of a recognized tribe. It is time for those who are not in
any of these minorities stop make discriminating laws against them. That also includes
men who make discriminatory laws against a woman’s body.
Myths
Myth #27: You Can Talk While Skydiving
People often think you can talk to the skydiving instructor
when you’re free-falling. Well, here’s a reality check straight from the
rulebook of physics—there are different plans in motion. As you hurtle earthward
at blazing speeds, clocking up to 120 mph, the overwhelming rush of wind takes
center stage.
It’s a roar so mighty that it swallows your words whole,
rendering casual chit-chat utterly impossible. The air acts like a swift
pickpocket, snatching your sentences away. While Hollywood may have other
ideas, real-life skydivers must rely on hand signals or specially adapted
radios for communication amidst the aerial dance.

Ancient Roman Life
Ancient Roman Beauty Routines for Women
Women in ancient Rome strived for beauty standards that
signified status and class, focusing on a pale, unblemished complexion with a
subtle blush. Achieving this look required an array of natural cosmetics, such
as foundations made from white lead and blush from various organic and
inorganic materials.
Elaborate hairstyles embellished with ropes or golden threads
displayed wealth and artistry. Icons like Poppaea Sabina exemplified these
ideals. These beauty rituals went beyond vanity, embodying the wealth and
societal roles of Roman women, and were integral to their identity in the
public and private spheres.
