Thoughts for the day

Be more observant about anything that sounds off, even if just a little. It is April Fool’s Day. In the country we are living in, the times we are living in, it will be difficult to know the truth.

The executive order regarding Unions has me very concerned. Trump says that collective bargaining with Federal employees is not to be engaged in numerous departments. When I became chief negotiator for employees at BIA, those who worked as contract employees did have sick leave but no personal days. Most of our union members worked in isolated areas. The only way they could get business done on weekdays was to use sick leave, where a Dr’s. statement was usually required. My team negotiated for 24 hours of personal leave, no questions asked. The next contract turned that into 40 hours per contract. Without collective bargaining I’m sure management would have left the contract with no personal leave.

Trivia for all

  • What is the only planet in our solar system to rotate clockwise on its axis?

  • Which freezes faster: hot or cold water?

 Answer: Venus

Answer: Thanks to the Mpemba effect, hot water freezes faster.
