Thoughts for the day

A nice spring day.

I saw my oncologist. My CLL is still in remission. However, my lymph nodes are getting large. It means a non-cancer treatment that should shrink the lymph nodes. I do have to get a port, a thing under the skin on my chest, that allows them to put in the right medicine. It shouldn’t be a problem.

’86 47’ made of sea shells was posted by James Comey, the former FBI director. The Dems understood it, but the right wing in to a tizzy saying he was calling for the assassination of our beloved President. In my understanding ‘86’ means to kicked out…as at a bar or venue for rowdy behavior. No matter what FOX says, it is not a call for assassination.

Update on the Qatar plane Trump wants: Qatar has had it for sale since 2020 with no one wanting to pay their price. They are trying to move away from the planes fuel inefficiency and high cost of maintenance. They decided to give it away as a ‘gift’ to save money. If Trump gets it, taxpayers will be responsible for refitting it, getting rid of any surveillance devices, and paying for the high maintenance. Hardly a deal.

Native American Tribes That Dominated History

Pueblo Tribes © Britannica

The Pueblo tribes, residing in the Southwestern river valleys and high deserts, are celebrated for their architectural and agricultural innovations. Known for their unique adobe settlements, these multi-story structures were both homes and fortifications.

The Pueblo Revolt of 1680 was a significant event, marking their resistance against Spanish colonization. This united effort demonstrated their resilience and determination to preserve their way of life.

Pueblo culture is deeply rooted in communal practices and spiritual traditions. Their ability to sustain their communities in arid environments is a testament to their ingenuity and adaptability.

Random Thoughts…

Most of us have a nicer phone than the richest man in the world did five years ago.

Approximately 107 Billion people are believed to have lived on Earth.

Along with the prospect of life on other planets, there must be an equal possibility of new herbs and spices that could be used in cooking.

I’ll consider my life a success if I never drop my phone in the toilet.

Baked beans are actually not baked, but stewed.

The song “happy birthday” doesn’t have any verbs.

Unknown Civilizations that once ruled the world…

Kingdom of Kush © World History Encyclopedia

The Kingdom of Kush flourished in Nubia, modern-day Sudan, renowned for its rich culture and strategic location along the Nile. This civilization thrived between 1070 BCE and the 4th century CE, serving as a trade and cultural link between Africa and Egypt.

Kushites are known for their unique pyramids, far smaller than those in Egypt, yet equally impressive. Kushite rulers once conquered Egypt, establishing the 25th Dynasty and unifying the two lands.

Their legacy includes remarkable art, architecture, and a distinctive script known as Meroitic. The kingdom's decline began with the rise of the Aksumite Empire. Today, its ruins attract archeologists worldwide.
