Thoughts for the day

A very nice Monday…great day to be with friends.

I’ll be getting with some for a late lunch/early dinner today.

I watched the 36th annual PBS National Memorial Day Concert last night. It was very well done and brought out patriotism.

It was very difficult to watch Pres. Trump at the Memorial Day Remembrance at Arlington today. His words to the Vets and their families simply do not match his actions regarding the military. Being a Gold Star family is difficult enough without having a hypocrite talk about your loved one must make the pain greater.

Native American Tribal Proverbs

"The earth is our mother, and we are her children" conveys a profound connection to the planet. It teaches respect and care for nature, emphasizing our role as its stewards.

This proverb inspires us to live in harmony with the environment, recognizing its nurturing role. By viewing the Earth as a mother, we are reminded of the need to protect and cherish it.

This wisdom encourages a lifestyle that honors and preserves natural beauty and resources, fostering a sustainable relationship with our planet.

Unknown Civilizations that once ruled the world…

Olmec Civilization© ThoughtCo

Often referred to as the "mother culture" of Mesoamerica, the Olmec Civilization thrived from 1500 BCE to 400 BCE. Renowned for their colossal-stone head sculptures, the Olmecs made significant contributions to early writing and calendar systems.

Their influence extended across Mesoamerica, laying cultural foundations for later civilizations like the Maya and Aztec. The Olmecs developed a complex society with trade networks and ceremonial centers.

Despite their decline, they left a lasting legacy in art, architecture, and religious iconography. Today, their enigmatic stone heads continue to intrigue and inspire cultural appreciation.
