Thoughts for the day

There was a little rain last night and it looks like more is coming today. Lots of grey clouds and cooler temperatures.

It was on June 2, 1924 that Native Americans became citizens. That sure took way too long.

Hatred is everywhere. Yesterday it hit Boulder, Colorado. I am still shocked that one man could bring Molotov cocktails to a peaceful, on-going weekly protest on the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder. They were only walking through the area with signs. They did not deserve to be burned. I wish I had an answer to make this kind of violence disappear from our world.

Native American Tribal Proverbs

"The water you touch in the river is the last of what has passed and the first of what comes."© DeviantArt

This proverb reflects life’s ongoing flow and the passage of time. Touching the water symbolizes our connection to both past and future. It teaches us to appreciate the present moment, acknowledging that life is a continuous journey.

By embracing this flow, we gain perspective on change and continuity. This wisdom encourages us to live mindfully, aware of our place in the stream of time.

It’s a reminder to cherish the now, understanding that it is both a culmination of the past and a seed for the future.

Hydrox was the original sandwich cookie, while Oreo is the more popular knockoff.

Arnold Sommerfeld, a German theoretical physicist was nominated for the Nobel Prize 84 times, more than any other physicist, but he never received the award.

There are only 32 satellites serving the world’s GPS needs.

Tycho is the crater on the Moon, named after 16th century Danish astronomer, Tycho Brahe, where the monolith was found in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Unknown Civilizations that once ruled the world…

The Bactria-Margiana Archaeological Complex, also known as the Oxus Civilization, thrived in Central Asia around 2300-1700 BCE. It showcased impressive urban planning and artistic achievements, influencing surrounding regions.

The civilization's cities were well organized, with advanced water management systems. Artifacts reveal a vibrant culture with intricate jewelry and pottery.

The Oxus Civilization's interactions with Mesopotamian and Indus Valley cultures shaped early trade routes.

Although it eventually declined, its legacy of innovation in urban design and art continues to fascinate archaeologists, providing critical insights into early civilization development in Central Asia.
