Thoughts for the day

Another warm day with no monsoon in sight.

I’m not surprised but local Texas and DC government is not forthcoming in the timeline in the hours before the flooding. I get that they are still in rescue mode, but they know something.

I’m improving every day. I have more ‘get-up’ than I have had in several months.

Famous Quotes That People Have Always Misinterpreted

"Be the change you wish to see in the world" – Mahatma Gandhi

This wasn’t a direct quote from Gandhi but rather paraphrased from one of his speeches about change and taking responsibility. What Gandhi actually said was, “If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him.”

Famous Historical Myths That People Still Believe Today

Ernest Hemingway Source; Wikimedia Commons.

Ernest Hemingway transformed American fiction with his spare, unadorned prose and mastery of understatement. His novels, including The Old Man and the Sea and A Farewell to Arms, are celebrated for their emotional intensity and vivid, economical language. Hemingway’s adventurous spirit, from war correspondent to deep-sea fisherman, infused his writing with authenticity and drama. His influence resonates throughout modern literature, and his life and achievements remain a source of fascination, as detailed by the Nobel Prize organization.

Random Thoughts…

When you see a couple kissing at the end of a Christmas movie, they are covered in potato flakes (fake snow).

Every single one of your favorite things started out with you trying something new. #takearisk

If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle.

“It usually takes me two or three days to prepare an impromptu speech.” – Mark Twain

The word “unfriend” appeared in print in 1659.

When I was a child I always hoped that the alien that found my balloon was happy.
