Thoughts for the day

It’s cloudy an d I’m hoping that the monsoon will start today.

The stiches from my port have finally fallen off.

Mary and Mike came up from Phoenix for the first time in months. We will have lunch tomorrow.

I am so happy that the meds are working. Much of my gut has shrunk, making it much easier to buckle my pants. I also have gotten a lot more energy. I didn’t realize how much energy I had lost but now I am ready for anything.

This morning, I cleaned out the inside of my vehicle and washed the windows, inside and out. I should give the vehicle a wash, but the monsoon will just mess it up again.

The big beautiful bill is back in the House. My rep is far right, but I still wrote his office to say I was not happy with the cuts to Medicare/Medicaid, the ICE money they want,  and the tax cuts for the wealthy. Hopefully more of my neighbors did the same.

Famous Quotes That People Have Always Misinterpreted

"I cannot tell a lie; it was I who chopped down the cherry tree" – George Washington ©Photo Credit: Tony Baggett/Shutterstock

George Washington never said this quote and instead, it was made up by the biographer Parson Weems. It was supposed to improve George Washington’s reputation and make him seem more honest. There’s no evidence to show that Washington ever said this quote and instead, it’s seen as being a quote on morality.

Famous Historical Myths That People Still Believe Today

Julius Caesar Was Born by C-Section ©Nicolas Coustou on Wikimedia Commons

The term "Caesarean section" is often linked to Julius Caesar, but he was not born this way. In his time, C-sections were performed only when the mother did not survive childbirth. His mother, Aurelia, lived long after his birth, proving this myth false.

Random Thoughts…

The average number of fingers on July 3rd is probably almost always higher than on July 5th.

Anyone trying to win the argument isn’t really interested in having a discussion.

Oprah’s parents named her after Harpo Marx. “Oprah” is “Harpo” backward.

Some alien might have the Milky Way as their desktop wallpaper.

There is a giant mushroom in Oregon that is over 2,400 years old, covers 3.4 square miles of land, and is still growing.

All of humanity, put together, has over 168 billion hours a day to accomplish things.

Gruntled is a word, and it is the opposite of the word disgruntled.
