My Rambling Thoughts
Had a nice conversation with my brother in Mexico. Real talking on the phone. Very nice. I needed his address down there to renew my passport. Turns out it isn’t really an address. In Spanish, it is 'Known Residence', the small town name, Yucatan, Mexico. So I’ll just use the business address they still have in the US. And thanks to modern tech, they have a NY phone number that automatically transfers calls to his cell, wherever he is. Gotta love technology. It is still way expensive for him to have the calls forwarded to Mexico.
Beautiful early fall day here at 7000’. Warm, slight breeze. Enjoying it a lot.
I visit FB most days. Like keeping up with friends and family. I also learn some new things. In today’s world, I do check most ‘unusual’ posts to be sure traditional news agencies are reporting it. If not, I don’t like, share, or comment. I never click on ads, but I must say, FB is doing a very good job of hiding ‘ads’ as real posts. Now we learn that FB posted many ads bought by Russians who were known to be involved in US Politics shenanigans. As if the far right or the far left stuff isn’t ‘fake’ enough, now other countries add to the mix. That does not mean that I am leaving FB with all its positive stuff, nor any of the other social media sites. It just means that I am even more aware of clicks, likes, shares, and comments. I spent many years on the Rez, where rumors and gossip were fairly rampant and I got great experience dealing with it.

Police in Albuquerque said a stolen U-Haul trailer was found abandoned after the thieves apparently discovered its contents: The remains of the victim's father-in-law. The Albuquerque Police Department said a Chevy Trailblazer SUV and the U-Haul it was towing were stolen from outside the Residence Inn. "Inside the U-Haul was a casket, containing the body of the victim's father-in-law," police said in a statement. Police said the couple was driving from Oklahoma to San Juan County to bury the man when they stopped for the night at the hotel. Investigators said the SUV, trailer and its cargo were found abandoned about four hours after the initial report in the parking lot of the Puerto Del Sol Golf Course. Tixier said a hotel employee who witnessed the theft told police a Chevy Silverado pickup truck appeared to be involved in the incident. Police stopped a truck matching the description after a short chase and three suspects were arrested.
