A
really nice day. I’m sure glad I’m not in the parts of AZ that are burning.
There are fires near Tucson, Phoenix, and on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
The Phoenix fire is a brush fire. The others are forests. Roads are closed.
Areas are being evacuated. Flag lived through this last year, and thankfully no
structures were lost and no major injuries. I hope these new areas have the
same result.
A
Fake Facebook page almost got a nurse fired, caused her to get death threats when
the fake page made racist comments. The police found the guy who did the fake page
to discover he was upset with the nurse and the care facility where she works.
Courts will decide the final outcome. Her life has changed the foreseeable
future.
Almost
1000 AZ Physicians have sent a letter to our Governor here in AZ, asking him to
require masks in public as record numbers cases are found daily. Since the ‘opening’
of AZ, the count of cases is fourfold. IMHO, there needs to be a nationwide
policy that is enforced. AZ is not alone in the dramatic rising cases.
Change
is coming: After over 130 years, Quaker is dropping the name and image of Aunt
Jemima from syrup and pancake mix, stating it is seen as racist by many. Also, Uncle
Ben’s Rice (owned by Mars), and Mrs. Butterworth’s (owned by Conagra) have said
they are also changing their iconic visuals. Land of Lakes has dropped the
Native woman’s image from its packaging, which has been used since the 1920’s.
