Another non-windy spring day.

Another town I enjoyed that is no unsafe to travel: Cape Town, South Africa is #2 on that list.

In this alternative universe we live in, the President of South Africa is visiting the White House. Recently, Trump allowed almost 50 white South Afrikaner farmers refugee status because of the ‘genocide’ in South Africa, while denying Afghans who helped us during the war the same status. The meeting during the press conference became tense several times. South Africa wants more trade. The South African President pushed to get that, complimented Trump several times, and fully denied any genocide of White farmers in South Africa.  

UNICEF is saying that contrary to news reports, only a tiny amount of humanitarian aide is getting to the starving and sick people in Gaza. This is all on Israel. Compassion is needed now and into the future.

Thoughts for the day

Finally, a nice spring day with no wind.

I was saddened to read that Ethiopia is #20 on do not travel to from the State Department. When I visited there with Focus Travel, it was an historic land with many different cultures.  In the north we saw the Coptic church history and, in the south, we saw the National Geographic tribal cultures. Internal strife has made the country unsafe. So very sad as I learned so much from our guide and the people of this beautiful country. The food was delicious. And I have met so many airport workers from Ethiopia in other travels. Many have worked for decades at airports, and all have been surprised when I tell them I have been to their country.

Thoughts for the day

Spring = windy and that’s what Flagstaff has today.

The Greer fire, south of Flagstaff, is now 15000 acres with little containment.

It is sad that the Supreme Court must revisit Birthright citizenship.

I should have gotten my latest crown today. After fitting it and then x-raying it he decided it didn’t set right. So, now to start with a new temporary and then a new crown. I’ll get refitted at the end of the month.

In Flagstaff we always have spring new road work. Getting to the dentist on the west side of Flag is a different route every time. Then today they are working on the main road [highway 89] to get to I-40 to make it to the west side. When I got off I-40 at Country Club I had to wait for 8 cycles of the stop light to get to Highway 89. Then it was 1 lane in both directions. It took me about 15 minutes to get to the dentist, the return trip was 40 minutes. Gotta love construction.
