My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

It is not that cold, but it just keeps snowing. Most of it melts as it hits the earth. Not complaining as we need the moisture. NWS sez we have 3".

Doing some laundry so I’ll have clean clothes.

I am happy that Poland and other European countries are welcoming the fleeing fellow Europeans from Ukraine. While it is difficult, many are getting long-term visas to stay as well as the ability to get to other countries. What is disturbing is the way middle eastern and African students who were attending University in Ukraine are being treated as they escape. Many of these men and women are being told they can’t leave and now must fight for Ukraine. If my memory is correct, years ago when Syrians and Iranians were escaping their tormentors, Europe closed their areas to almost all of them. Is the fear of those ‘not like us’ always present? If it is, then how do we change that?

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

The expected storm is moving in quickly. Two hours ago it was blue sky, now it is overcast. The weather guy sez rain today, then snow. Weather guy was wrong…heavy snow fall began about 1:00pm…and is continuing.

CNN hasn’t been working on my TV most of this morning. I called but they didn’t know what was wrong. Crazy.

A little nervous over Ukraine. Last night the Russians attacked the largest nuclear plant in Europe. There were some fires in the administration buildings, but the plant seems OK. First reports of increased radiation were premature. Now the Ukrainians are calling for a no fly zone…which could lead to a much bigger war.
