Today’s Thoughts
All
the clouds say moisture, weather guy says no moisture. As I look closely at the
clouds, they are probably smoke from the nearby prescribed burns.
The
Prescribed Burns Season has begun in Northern AZ. Today there are 3 such burns
in the Flagstaff area. They are to clean up the forest before the fire season
begins. I sure hope it works. These burns really change the air we breathe, and
effects my allergies.
Today
marks the 1868 signing of the Navajo Treaty. It freed the Navajo from captivity
and allowed them to return to their homeland. It set up education and medical services
for all Navajo. My career would have taken a much different path if not for
this treaty.
I’m
happy that McCarthy was underestimated by me. I’m not a conservative, but this
guy did something the media never expected.
I
am impressed. Fire Season is returning soon. The ‘Ready, Set, Go plan has kept
us informed for the past 3 fire seasons. Now they have divided the Flagstaff
area into Zones to assist in notifying us of potential fire issues. According
to the plan, the Ready, Set, Go program will now list Zones, instead of street boundaries,
during fire season when a fire is nearby. I’m now in Zone 2208 and any Ready
Set Go text messages will read: Ready: Zones 125-130, Set Zones: 131, and Go
Zones: 132-135. This will make life much easier to deal with during the fire
season. Very cool.

Only Took Us 66 Years To Reach The Moon After The Wright Brothers First Took
Flight
Orville
and Wilbur Wright were two American brothers who are credited with designing,
building, and flying the world's first successful motor-operated airplane.
Their first successful flight was with the Wright Flyer on December 17, 1903.
Then,
in July 1969, a mere 66 years later, Apollo 11 became the first spaceflight
that landed people on the moon. Commander Neil Armstrong became the first
person to set foot on the lunar surface, with Aldrin joining 19 minutes later.
