My Rambling Thoughts
Monday turned out to be busy. Got Mary’s
b-day lunch all set. Did some much needed ‘household staples’ shopping. If
anyone should ask, I hate stores that open one or two checkout lines, forcing
you to wait in a long line or go to the self-checkout. I spent much of my HS
and college days checking groceries. I know how to check, to bag, and to be
efficient. The problem is that the self-checkout lanes do not have a good way
to use your own bags, and you have to put everything on the damn scale area.
Most don’t have a ‘skip bagging’ option. I bought 40lbs of birdseed, 3 gallons
of distilled water for my indoor plants. There isn’t room on the counter for
all this plus my other stuff. I had to wait for the ‘attendant’ to come over
and put her key, then a special code, then the skip bagging showed up. What a
waste of her time and my time. Note: this store had 14 checkout stations, but
only 2 open. There are 9 self-checkout stands. Crazy.
Breaking news: Republicans say they will
have a new Health Care bill for the senate on Thursday. They have had 7 years
to come up with something better, but can’t. Now, the Senate leadership hopes
we will all be overjoyed on Thursday. Not holding my breath. For now, I just
wish politicians would shut up about just about everything.
I’ve seen many giraffes in the wild. I’ve
seen a few in zoos. Always wondered why their tongues were purple. Read Trivia
Hive below and you too will know…if you don’t already.

Yep, It Really Happened
*------ If You Can't Find One, Raise One
-------*
A married teacher adopted one of her students so she could have sex with him
every day, according to police in New Jersey. Burlington Township police said
that they have arrested 43-year-old Rayna Culver, after being accused of having
sex with her student, who was adopted by her at the age of 15. According to the
police investigation, Culver has been married to her husband for 14 years. She
has also been a teacher for many years. When the boy was 15 years old, he was
kicked out of his home. Culver then decided to adopt the child. The boy told
police that the teacher adopted him because she wanted to have sex with him.
Over a period of several months, the boy and he teacher had sex every day
behind the back of her husband. The boy told police that he was initially
afraid to tell anyone because he believed that Culver would kick him out of her
home. Eventually, the boy told police about the sex abuse. The boy showed
police text messages that he exchanged with Culver, describing multiple sex
acts. Culver denied all the allegations, saying that the troubled boy made
everything up.

Trivia Hive Answers
Sunburn prevention
Before you head out to a long day of fun
in the sun at the beach, you slather on a nice, thick layer of sunscreen. While
you're at the beach soaking in the rays, you might also enjoy an ice cream
cone, gelato or Italian ice. With your tongue spending a lot of time in the
sun, you might want to put some sunscreen on it, too, right? For giraffes, who
spend hours each day in the African sun eating acacia leaves, they get to leave
the lotion behind because of their tongue color. Scientists believe the
blue/purple/black color helps these animals avoid sunburn on their tongues
while they chomp down. If that feat of evolutionary brilliance wasn't enough,
giraffes also have antiseptic saliva. Ah, the wonders of nature. Source: Mental

All
‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one
other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly
once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore
difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar
was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
