This is
the precept by which I have lived: Prepare for the worst; expect the best; and

My Rambling Thoughts
There was a nice rain much of the night.
Gotta love the monsoon. Sky still looks like more rain will be in our near
future.
Sometimes it is hard to be proud of AZ
politics…like when 2 state senators suggested that one of them be appointed to
replace McCain when his diagnosis of cancer was revealed. Then today, Senator
John McCain made a very compelling speech to his fellow Senators and to the
American people about the change that is needed in Congress. Makes for good AZ
press. Hope all the Senators were listening.
Then the President and the leader of
Lebanon speak in the Rose Garden to America and to the press. So amazing that
two of the press asked questions to the Lebanese leader, in their native
language and the leader of Lebanon answered in their native language. Not
unusual but this was a WH feed given to all networks and there was NO
translation given. Just astounding. And quite frankly, is an insult to Lebanon
as their leader had a chance to be heard by the American public and the
interpreter feed was not transmitted to us. Wonder if our leader got a
translation in his earpiece? One final rant: Over the years there are many of
these WH Rose Garden things that are broadcast. Because the President of the US
usually holds press conferences, seldom does the press ask about internal
American stuff and ask about things going on in the world. This is the second
Rose Garden thing in the last two weeks where the press feels obligated to ask
internal American stuff in the presence of another country’s leader. Just
strange.
THIS IS NOT NORMAL:
I was
shocked and disappointed when I listened to the leader’s speech to the Boy
Scouts at the National Jamboree. The idea that he talks politics to the young
shows me that he has one agenda: “I’m great and you should know it.” Every
other President who has spoken over the last 80 years spoke to the Scout oath
and/or law and how it prepares them for life. Not this guy. Just sad. I was a Boy
Scout and was astonished he would do this.

‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one

once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore
difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar
was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
