My Rambling Thoughts
I don’t want to complain about our great monsoon season, but the rain and lightning have me missing this year’s county fair. As I was getting ready to head out about 10a the heavy rain and lightning started, so I decided I’d stay home.

A couple of weeks ago I bought an air fryer. I have used it several times since and must say it was a great purchase. No more heating up the oven for oven fries, oven fried chicken, crispy fried veggies, and more. And no oil needed. The internet machine has many recipes for free

I really need to make a household essentials shopping run, but my stubbornness will not let me shop on a Federal Holiday. Labor Day is a day set aside to honor the hard workers of this country, I think they should get a day off too. My belief is that by shopping on a Federal Holiday only encourages stores to add more hours. A friend at NAU works in maintenance. They accidently let too many people off for this 3-day weekend, so they decided to put everyone’s name in a hat to see who would have their leave cancelled. The winners will be ‘on-call’ for any emergencies. That means they are only paid for the hours there is an actual emergency on campus, but they must be by the phone and drive to NAU to work, or simply sit in their small office during the time they are ‘on-call’. Bummer.

Speaking of Universities: I saw a recent chart that was looking at the highest paid state employee in each state. In many states, including AZ, it was the University Football coach. Many made double + the University President salary and three or four times that of the governor’s salary of their state. No wonder higher education is so damn expensive.
