Random Tidbits

 USS Theodore Roosevelt was the first aircraft carrier to be assembled using modular construction. Having the modules pre-built and welded together saved an amazing 16 months on the construction.

My Rambling Thoughts

A very enjoyable Sunday morning walk in the forest. It is still damp and peaceful. Hopefully, the monsoon continues so it will have a nice green floor.

Sunday morning news shows were a lot of information on John Lewis. What an amazing individual. I am hopeful those in their 20’s and 30’s will learn from his example and continue his work.

I was reading about the similarities between the 1918 Pandemic and today’s Pandemic. Wilson and Trump had a lot in common on their handling of a pandemic. Both opened too soon. Both had many refusing to wear masks and did little to change their minds. Both held huge parades that exacerbated the numbers. Too bad we learn little from history.

I have some great green plants in my front window. Even though I rotate them regularly, one of the large ones was leaning too much for my enjoyment. I decided to fix it. I dug up some dirt around it, straightened it up, and packed down the dirt. It looks much better now…now I just hope it remains more upright. A couple of months ago I started using fertilizer plugs. After two feeding they are taking off. Very pleased.

2007 - News helicopters from Phoenix, Arizona television stations KNXV and KTVK collide over Steele Indian School Park in central Phoenix while covering a police chase. Four people were killed.
