Random Tidbits

When notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar was shot dead in 1993, the Colombian government took control of his luxurious estate in northwestern Colombia, including his personal zoo. Most of the animals were shipped away, but the four hippopotamuses - of which Escobar was especially fond - were left to fend for themselves in a pond. Now, there are dozens and dozens of them. They are the only wild hippos outside of Africa.

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

A sunny day and a great day for a walk. So, I did. All that is left of our two feet of snow last week can be found in shady areas. The rest as soaked into the parched soil. So good.

I fully admit that I don’t understand the current Republican Party. I can disagree with some conservative ideas; I can vote against the holders of some beliefs about how to run the country. I can not even comprehend how anyone can support someone who openly called for the death of several current and former politicians.

Maybe it’s the pandemic, maybe it’s the teams, but I can’t get excited about the Super Bowl or maybe it’s the logo they are using. The logo for the 55^th Super Bowl sure looks like it is LIV with the Trophy as the I…making it look like Super Bowl 54.

2020 US Senate votes to acquit President Donald Trump 52-48 on charges of abuse of power and 53-47 on obstruction of Congress.
