My Sometimes-Long-Winded
Thoughts
Storms and
therefore flooding continues. Hoping for the best for the area.
Flagstaff
watersheds in burn areas are now saturated and even only negligible rain leads
to flooding below the burn areas. It is turning into a destructive monsoon
season.
The rez area
around Tuba also got heavy rains and more are expected today thru Saturday.
Many dirt roads are washed out. School starts next week and road crews from
BIA, Tuba Chapter, Navajo Nation, and ADOT are working to get the roads
repaired before school buses have to haul children.
Gun manufacturers
made $1billion over the past decade selling assault rifles. No wonder they have
little incentive to make these guns less deadly.
Now that
Biden in testing negative, we should celebrate to giant steps in controlling
COVID. Much better than a few years ago.
Russians may
be open to a trade: a female b-ball player with drugs in her luggage and a
Canadian with American citizenship convicted of spying for the Russian ‘Merchant
of Death’. A tough call for sure.
Interesting:
Hulu Streaming, a Disney company, will not run political ads on sensitive
issues: abortion, climate change, gun laws; but will allow non-sensitive
issues: taxes and education.

One Hit Wonders
An
instrumental one-hit wonder that is worth remembering, the Chantays were known

together at Santa Ana High School and managed to score a major hit with
“Pipeline” in 1963. Two members, Bob Spickard and Brian Carman, wrote the song
when seniors in high school.
