Fire
continues…thankfully very little wind. So far: 2000 homes evacuated, the
Pipeline fire is now 20178 acres, the Haywire fire merged with the Double fire
and is now 4051 acres. There are 600+ firefighters on the line, 2 DC-10’s and 2
helicopters are dropping retardant. The jerk who started this told the court he
had burned some used toilet paper and it got out of control. I’m still safe.
City bus service is being curtailed because many drivers are in the evacuation
area and can’t work. NAU and Twin Arrows Casino are offering a place to stay
and food for evacuees. A local Mexican restaurant gave out free meals yesterday
to all evacuees. I live in a very caring community.
Yellowstone
Nat’l Park is closed due to heavy rain and severe road damage. So sad. The
pictures I saw of the park were frightening.
The
bipartisan committee to make new gun laws says they have reached agreement and
will vote on it next week, after it is put in legal language. I’ll wait and
see.

of photographs to prove that all four feet of a horse leave the ground when it
runs; the study becomes the basis of motion pictures. The purpose of the shoot
was to determine whether a galloping horse ever lifts all four feet completely
off the ground during the gait since the human eye could not break down the
action. It is considered by many to be the first ‘motion picture.’
