My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

Cloudy day…hoping for monsoon to bring some light moisture. Had a nice little shower while writing this.

I had planned to have lunch with Andy and Faith. Got a text that Andy was having back issues, so it was cancelled. I called and he spent yesterday at the clinic. It seemed to help, but the pain was back this morning. He will return to the clinic if it doesn’t improve. They did give him a referral but the earliest appointment is at the end of August.

5000+ children are missing in Ukraine since the war began. The leadership of Ukraine says they were captured by Russian soldiers and sent back to Russia. Inexcusable.

Details are emerging regarding the killing of Zawahiri. The drone had a razor-blade missile that had no explosives. It just drilled a hole right through him. No one else was injured or killed. This weapon sounds more like science fiction.

Pelosi has left Taiwan. China added war games with live ammunition near the island. It looks like this bullying will continue until someone stops it. Hoping for cool heads everywhere.

Iron Butterfly: 'In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida'

The unabridged version of the 1968 song is more than 17 minutes long and was one of the first “heavy metal” songs. An often-told story is that the song's true title was meant to be “In the Garden of Eden.” Iron Butterfly’s lead singer Doug Ingle wrote “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” and was the son of a church organist.
